For the photographer it is a trip to prehistory. 150 million years ago a large araucaria forest developed there. The Cordillera de los Andes did not exist as such and in its place the sea extended. The weather was warmer and more humid. After the change in environmental conditions produced by volcanism, this environment was buried under layers of ash and other sediments.
