Australia Qantas Founders Museum
Qantas was founded in 1920 in the town of Winton, 170 KM north of Longreach. The name Qantas is an acronym for its original name, "Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services". The airline moved to Longreach in 1921 and the hangar shown is the original hangar at Longreach. There is a static museum of Qantas aircraft, the oldest being housed in the hangar. Now the airline is based in the Sydney suburb of Mascot with its main hub at Sydney Airport.
