Australia Soul building, Surfers Paradise
This is the "Soul" building (on the left) in Surfers Paradise. At a height of 243 metres and 77 floors, this residential building is the second highest building in Surfers Paradise after Q1. Construction was completed in 2012.
Surfers Paradise is a small part of a very long beach that is bounded by the Pacific Ocean on one side and the lineal development of towns and high-rise apartments known as the Gold Coast running from Tweed Heads in the south to South Stradbroke Island in the north.
The Gold Coast was originally known as the South Coast (because it was south of Brisbane). However, inflated prices for real estate and other goods and services led to the nickname of "Gold Coast" from 1950.
The region is the iconic location for all year round beachside activities.

Photography Tips
For this type of work an extreme wide angle lens is required. This was shot at 15mm full-frame equivalent.
Travel Information
There is no airport at this location. I flew into Gold Coast Airport, half the runway is in Queensland and half in New South Wales, near Tweed Heads. A taxi from there to Surfers cost about $60. Once in Surfers many areas can be reached by walking but there is a tram and bus service.
