Australia Melbourne State Library
Cool star formation inside the cities main library. Easily accessible, and photography friendly.
Photography Tips
This is a great location to come to when you are in the city and either the weather is dull outside or its during the daytime when shooting outside isn't optimal.
I recommend taking a mini tripod as room to spread out a typical tripod can be tight in some areas.
I didn't come across any resistance taking images with a tripod. So I guess it was accepted, but like always, be courteous to other people and always work safe for others, yourself and your equipment.

Travel Information
Easily get here by Tram or in the city. Stop over at the State Library stop. Once inside you want to make your way to the Dome Gallery. I then took the elevator to a designated floor. From memory there were 5 floors. Each one will have a different perspective of the room.
