Australia The Strand
You can’t come to Townsville and not come to The Strand! It’s lined by beach on one side and cafes and pubs on the other side of the road. There are thousands of beautiful trees along the 4-5km walk (or drive) and it all looks out to Maggie (Magnetic Island) across the bay. At one end there’s a Rockpool and there are plenty of points of interest to take photos. It’s popular with joggers in the morning. One word of warning: large saltwater crocodiles are regularly spotted in the area, so keep your eyes open if you venture onto the beach in the dark.
Photography Tips
Although the area is reasonably busy at all times of the day and night, you won’t have much trouble getting a good, clear shot.
Travel Information
Free angle parking all along The Strand. If there’s an event on, it can be a challenge to get a spot close to where you want to go but most times, it’s pretty good.
