The lake is usually dry but in times of flood when it fills with water the colours can be remarkable. This view shows a shoreline where water meets desert.

People have differing opinions about the best height to fly and lens selection. This was taken at 600 feet. Flying in the golden hour is best but low light can present challenges with camera settings. A high shutter speed is needed to prevent motion blur. When shooting straight down depth of field is not a problem so a small f-stop can be used. Settings for this image were: 1/250 sec, f9.5, ISO 200, 156 mm FL.

Make your base in William Creek. The airfield there is just 15 minutes flying time from the lake shore.
