The island is a mecca for four wheel drive enthusiasts; a vehicle ferry operates daily from the mainland. You can drive to the northern end of the island and check out the lighthouse and then drive for miles along the ocean side beach.
Just up the road from the Tangalooma Resort is the line of old hulks that form an artificial reef suitable for snorkelling or scuba diving. Fishing is also popular along the island's leeward shoreline.
