This is the old Police station the town was born out of a goldrush in 1887, Arltunga was officially Central Australia's first town and once supported up to 300 people.

It is about 1 hour 16 mins east of Alice springs and means if you want to get there for sunrise you need to leave early and there is nowhere really to stay
