Austria Österreichische Postsparkasse
This beautiful Building was opened in 1906 and is one of the most important examples of the "Jugendstil" Architecture in Vienna. It was planned by the famous Architect Otto Wagner. He did not only construct the building itself but even the decoration inside and the furniture and all the details. Until 2017 it was the headquarters of the Austrian Post Bank. We must be afraid that the new owner will destroy this beautiful ensemble if it will be rebuilt into one more hotel ... Opposite the building, the ministry of defence is located. It was constructed nearly at the same time, but the court of the emperor didn't want to have such a "modern" building - so it was performed in the typical style of the "Ringstraße" that surrounds the city.
Photography Tips
I don't know if it is possible to visit the building inside. If yes, you should have a wide-angle lens with you and a camera that produces good pictures with a higher ISO.
