Wonderful route around this lake, I liked this spot the best with the mountains and reflections in the water.

long and short lenses, I wasn't able to stay until sunset, however I imagine some fabulous sunsets are possible.

By car you are more limited with parking, however if you have the time and can carry photo gear on a bicycle, there are plenty of areas to stop.
