It's not a "lake," more of a little waterpot, but the reflection of the mountain "Hochkönig" is terrific. Especially in the morning on a clear day, you will have a great chance to capture the stunning alpine glow.
You have to walk about 45 minutes to 1-hour upside down, depending on how fast you are—a good place for sunrise or sunset.

Photography Tips

Since the little pond is smaller than it seems in many photos, you will be surprised how hard it is to capture this stunning reflection without bringing a wide-angle lens. This lens gives you the best chance to cover the entire mountain ridge. On a frosty autumn morning, you might also have a great chance to witness a cloudy ocean nearby!

Travel Information

Parking is possible at the Arthurhaus parking lot, which is not free of charge. The road up here is in excellent condition, and on the way up, you can also stop and enjoy some stunning views around the mountain village of Mühlbach.
