A stunning view of the Plettsaukopf Reservoir which you can find on the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See, Austria. The mountain top offers a 360 degrees view over the surrounding alps and is a great place to spend a day or two for hiking in summer or ski in winter.

Photography Tips

I used my DJI Mavic 3 Pro to get a good overview of the reservoir and to feature the mountains and the valley in one photo. Make sure to register your drone. Otherwise you might not be allowed to fly here. Sunset is your best option with the light coming from your left or front depending on the season.

Travel Information

You could hike up here from the city, but it will be long and exhausting. Easier is to take one of the many cable cars and park your car at one of the many parking lots. There are also options to sleep up here over night in some huts or hotels. This is a great option to experience a sunrise and sunset!
