A stunning view of the alps which you can see from the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See, Austria. The mountain top offers a 360 degrees view over the surrounding alps and is a great place to spend a day or two for hiking in summer or ski in winter.

Photography Tips

I used my telephoto lens to get the compression in the photo and to zoom into the layers of the alpine mountains. Sunset is best to shoot against the light which is essential to create the layer optic. On a clear day you have the great chance capture those amazing colors!

Travel Information

You could hike up here from the city, but it will be long and exhausting. Easier is to take one of the many cable cars and park your car at one of the many parking lots. There are also options to sleep up here over night in some huts or hotels. This is a great option to experience a sunrise and sunset!
