This view can be seen from the 3K connection gondola from Kaprun towards the Kitzsteinhorn. The entire ride is spectacular and I can only recommend taking this gondola! Keep an eye open to your left when talking the gondola towards the mountain. The lake will be visible in the very beginning of your ride.

Photography Tips

Definitely bring a telephoto zoom lens (70-200) to get this close-up of the lake from the gondola since you are riding it quit high above it. A polarization filter is very helpful to get rid of reflections in the windows of the gondola!

Travel Information

Take the 3K connection after you take the MK Maiskogelbahn from the heart of Kaprun. You will need to buy a ticket at the ticket shop in the valley to enjoy this ride but its absolutely worth it!
