The Schmittenhöhe is a mountain with a height of 1,965 m above sea level on the eastern edge of the Kitzbühel Alps. There is a view of over 30 three-thousand-meter peaks as well as Lake Zell, the valley basin and the Saalach Valley.
Photography Tips
Definitely bring a tele-photo lens (70-200) to get this photo of the hut since its quite far in the distance surrounded by these beautiful trees. In the afternoon you can capture this beautiful light.
Travel Information
Its best to take the Schmittenhöhebahn or trassXpress gondola to get up the mountain since its almost 1000m elevation gain. You can park your car for free at the bottom of the gondola station for the duration of your visit. Tickets can be bought online or at the counter in the station. To reach this spot you have to follow the trail towards the Pinzgauer Hütte.
