Austria Wasserfallboden view from Gaisstein

The Gaisstein is a small peak in the Kiztsteinshorn area in Zell am See-Kaprun. Its a short hike from the Panoramabahn station and you can see the peak right on your arrival. If you are lucky you might see some vultures. Arrived on the top you can enjoy this stunning view onto the reservoir Wasserfallboden and some high peaks.

Make sure to bring at least a wide angle lens to get this kind of view but also a zoom lens with you. Its definitely worth the extra weight to get some close up shots of the peaks, the lake and the surroundings!

You could hike up here from the valley, but it will be long and exhausting. Easier is to take one of the many cable cars (Panoramabahn or 3K connection) and park your car at one of the many parking lots. There are also options to sleep up in the Kitzsteinhorn area over night in some huts. This is a great option to experience a sunrise and sunset!
