Austria Maria Alm Aerial view
Maria Alm is a picturesque village in the Hochkönig region of Austria, surrounded by the dramatic peaks of the Alps. In autumn, the village transforms into a beautiful landscape of golden and red hues, offering a perfect setting for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. Hiking is a popular activity during this season.
Autumn is also the ideal time to explore the "Bauernfeste or Almabtriebe," a traditional festival where decorated cattle are brought down from the high pastures to celebrate the end of the alpine summer. For those seeking a more relaxed experience, the region's cozy mountain huts offer local cuisine and spectacular views, making Maria Alm a perfect autumn getaway.

Photography Tips
I used my drone to capture this different view of the mountain village of Maria Alm. I was there at the beginning of October as a small reference for the travel period. An ND filter might be excellent for a higher saturation in the colors. Be aware of local regulations before operating your drone here
Travel Information
I parked my car in the marked parking lot at the village entrance. The lot is free, and they also have chargers for electric vehicles.
