Austria Hohenwerfen Castle
Hohenwerfen Castle stands high above the Austrian town of Werfen, approximately 40 kilometers south of Salzburg. The castle is surrounded by the Berchtesgaden Alps and the adjacent Tennengebirge mountain range. The fortification is a "sister" of Hohensalzburg Castle both dated from the 11th century.
Nowadays the bastion functions as a museum. Among the numerous attractions offered by the fortress are guided tours showing its extensive weapons collection, the historical Salzburg Falconry with the falconry museum as well as a fortress tavern. The historic Falconry Center is a special attraction, offering daily flight demonstrations using various birds of prey, including eagles, falcons, hawks, and vultures.

Travel Information
Some route planning in advance required in order to find nice spot for shooting the castle. There is no Google Street View in that region, at least wasn't present during my trip. I suggest to visit the castle first and got to photospot afterwards. You have to pass through the village and over the bridge, then follow the curvy road, which goes up in the mountains. You will have 2 or 3 panoramic opportunities via different elevation. I wasn't satisfied viewing the castle from above and decided to drive a bit down. Look on my map for coordinates for the best spot, it will save you some valuable time, instead of cruising through the mountains.
