The Old City is the historical core of the city. The Maiden Tower (behind me here) and the Shirvansha's Palace are well worth a visit but I was struck by the juxtaposition of old and new architecture from this spot.

Photography Tips

When I visited in June 2021 (for Euro 2020) I didn't see a cloud in the sky the whole time I was there. Presumably they have other types of weather, but pack sun lotion and consider how the quality of light will affect your photos.

Travel Information

Icherisheher is at the end of a subway line. It's also within walking distance of the waterfront, Flame Towers, and many other tourist spots.
