In this region of the High Fens, there are many burned trees from a fire years ago. Sunrise or sunset pictures at this location are great. It is also so dark that you can photograph the Milkyway.

Photography Tips

This spot is nice for sunset as well as astrophotography.

Travel Information

If you want to visit it, think about the time, in winter time it's getting dark very fast.

The hike from the parking spot is about 1 hour one way. Please be aware that half of the hike is just a footpath which might be quite muddy and you might have to climb on/off some footbridges. So don't forget your hiking boots.

Tja leuk, is een kleine 300 km voor mij, ik plan dit in dec/jan hopelijk met sneeuw. Ik heb je foto's bekeken , verdomd mooie ! En ook een D850 fan plus een z6II. grt. prentjes van mij vindt je op ggpics.be

Sorry Alona for the late reply. I saw your comment today and the parking spot from Guido is the easiest. To both of you be careful during snow the hike is very slippery and sometimes overcrowded.

From the parking lot you need to cross the street and then you will first walk on a mud path directly on the forest border. Then the wooden path starts and you need to follow him around 1km. After a while you will see a path on the left and he is sometimes a very muddy
