In the 17th century, when the Jaymaert family became owners by marriage, the castle stood at its present location. A new seigneural residence was needed during the wars of Louis XIV.
In 1731, Vinalmont was bought by the Van den Steen family, who sold it to Georges de Faudeur in 1776.
His son is probably responsible for the neoclassical castle. At the time, the castle was a large two-storey country house with a pediment on top. In 1861 Victor Claes bought the castle, which is now owned by his descendants. A few years later the castle got its present shape.
This almost princely residence was then surrounded by a French garden and a 30-hectare English park on the entire hill.
The main facade is flanked by round towers covered with paprika shafts, and on the left by an orangery, built around 1901.
