Belgium Fort 8
This fort is one of 7 remaining, build by Henri Alexis Brialmont in the defence concept of Belgium between 1859 and 1865. It's redoubt is particularly well conserved. Other infrastructure suffers from decay - but other similar forts (fort 7 - fort 5 - fort 2) can offer views on historical military defence. Note that fortresses can only be visited when accompanied by a guide. (contact me via my website http://aldlfoto.wordpress.com if you are interested)
Photography Tips
Bring light and a tripod! Limited electricity so don't count on charging batteries while on location.
Travel Information
There is a footpath by the surrounding moat. While the area offers opportunity for nature/landscape fotos, the inside of the fort can only be visited with a guide (like me...). There is plenty of parking room, and photographers easily spend a day or more on the location.
