Belgium de Warande Castle
De Warande Castle, on the Bergstraat in Kemmel, was built in 1925 by Baron Jacques Bruneel de la Warande, then mayor of Kemmel. It replaced an old castle which stood elsewhere in the municipality and was destroyed during the First World War.
After the death of the owner in 1964, the castle was sold to the Demeulenaere family from Roeselare. It then served as a hotel-restaurant for a number of years.
From 1978, it was rented out and later sold to the municipality of Heuvelland, which set it up as a town hall in 1979.
In 2004, the castle was protected as a monument.
