Belgium Solhof Castle

The first castle dates from about 1515. In 1748, it was replaced by a new castle. This castle was bought by Baron van Ertborn in 1748. After the death of his daughter, the Borrekens family became the owners. At the end of the 19th century, this family had the present Solhof Castle built. After the death of the next owner, a tobacco trader, the municipality of Aartselaar bought the castle in 1984. In 1990, the castle was sold on to a hotel chain, while the park remained the property of the municipality.

The Solhof estate and its surroundings have been protected as landscape since 1984.
