Belgium Saint Michael Castle
Saint Michael's Castle was built in 1784 by order of the magistrate Henri De Villers. In the 19th century, the castle changed hands many times.
In 1877, Baron August van Reynegom de Buzet bought the castle and lived there until his death in 1905. He gave the castle its current name.
In 1933, the De Roeck couple, a wealthy furniture manufacturer, bought the castle. After they moved to Brussels in 1964, the castle stood empty for a long time.
In 1970 the municipality bought the castle and the domain. The castle was used for cultural activities.
The Castle of Saint Michael and its gardens have been protected since 1981.
In 2017, renovation works were started. Currently, the castle is used as a restaurant.
