Bonaire has a few things that make it a popular destination. Two of these things are the flamingos (largest numbers in the Caribbean) and the salt flats and salt piles. This location gives you the flamingos and the salt flats with the salt piles visible in the distance.

Photography Tips

It is usually very bright here so a tripod is not essential for this shot. However a polarizing filter is a great idea. Also look around. The birds moves so the actual shot may be anywhere along the road at the south end of the island.

Travel Information

There is no public transit to this location. A car is the only realistic way to get here. Parking is easy as you can pull over and stop anywhere. Just make sure you are off the road. Then flamingos and salt flats are on private property, do not trespass.
