Bosnia and Herzegovina Dinaric Mountains
The Dinaric Mountains (also called the Dinaric Alps or Dinarides) are located in Southern Europe. It stretches over 600 kilometres along the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea from the Julian Alps in north-eastern Italy and Slovenia through north-western Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, south-western Serbia and Montenegro to northern Albania, where it ends in the cross-bar of the Prokletije (Albanian Alps). With its significant extension of more than 600 kilometres, the Dinarides form the dominant mountain range of south-eastern Europe and are at the same time the climatic, cultural and landscape boundary between the Mediterranean region and inland areas.
