Photography Tips

A good spot for beginners to experiment, you can use everything from wide-angle to telephoto.

Travel Information

You need a car to reach this site, there is no public transport available. It is a decent dirt road, but there are some deep potholes, so take care.

You can park in a small dirt parking spot on the side of the road, or just on the road itself. It is a dead-end street, so there is almost no traffic.

Bring a pair of boots if there has been any rain in the past few days, as it gets extremely muddy.

Yes, it is, although the airfield does not exist anymore. The plane is still there.

Hi Jacko, I guess you were using steal-wool that inflames once being circled around in the air? Did you put this on any kind of stick not to burn your fingers? Last, can you tell your settings (exposure time e.g. 15 Sec.?)

Indeed, we were using steel wool. I wasn't the one spinning, we used an experienced person for this (which I am not). He used a whisk tied to a piece of flexible steel wire. PEN E-PL7 (M43) - M.Zuiko 12-50mm @ 18mm - F5.6 - 30sec - ISO 200. Please be very careful when using steel wool, it is very easy to burn everything down!

Hello Jacko, thanks for your feedback and don`t worry. So far I have no intention on creating steel wool pictures. My query was related to pure curiousity. :-)

It wasn't meant in a personal way. These comments are public, and I prefer to err on the side of caution with these thing. Better to be safe than sorry, right? ;)
