Cambodia Angkor Wat - Moat
The 190-metre wide moat that surrounds the inner Angkor Wat complex. This is traversed by a bridge to the West. which joins the west parking area to Angkor Wat.
Photography Tips
Sunrise is of course fantastic here, although the main attraction is the Angkor Wat reflecting pond further inside the temple complex.
In the early morning before sunrise, visitors are stopped by guards to check visitor passes. Therefore, even though this does not comprise part of the Angkor Wat complex, you would still need a visitor pass to go here for sunrise.
I found that the ideal time to visit here was on by way back out of Angkor Wat, right after photographing the classic "reflecting pond" shot in the inner complex. With the sun still low in the sky, you've got about a 20 minute window of opportunity to shoot there before the sun peeps over the top of the inner temple structure.
