This is is an epic landscape photography spot with the glacier fed lake in the foreground and the glacier in the backdrop.
Photography Tips
Bring a light tripod a polarizer and one standard focal length lens. Pack light - you’ll need enough space for food and water.
Travel Information
Drive North from Squamish on the Sea to Sky Highway. Turn off at the Daisz Lake Road and Park at the parking lot at the end. The hiking trail starts right at the parking lot and will take you a steep elevation gane in switchbacks for the first two hours. After that you will hike along a smaller lake (Barrier Lake) and a second small lake (Lesser Garibaldi Lake). Roughly 10-15 minutes after the second lake there will be a path to your right taking you down to the campground at Garibaldi Lake with the spectacular views. You can also make camp here and explore the area further in multiple days. For a return trip in one day plan for at least six hours.
Before starting the hike consult with the visitor center. Even in late May you can have a lot of snow up there and require snow shoes to get through.
