Canada Carbide Willson Ruins, Gatineau Park Quebec
This site located at Meech Lake in Gatineau Park is the location of an old fertilizer factory built in 1911 by Thomas "Carbide" Willson. All that remains today are the ruins of the power plant, the base of an acid condensation tower and a dam. Follow this link for a brief history (http://www.capitalgems.ca/willson-ruins.html ).
Photography Tips
There is a lot to photograph at this location. There is a waterfall which flows past the old power plant as well as smaller rapids/waterfalls between the dam and the power plant. Autumn is a great time to visit as the crowds are smaller and the leaves are changing colour.
