Canada Thunder Cove Beach Cup & Saucer Rock Prince Edward Island

Along the northern Coast of Prince Edward Island, all the cliffs are made of earth and are continually eroded by the sea then some stubborn rocks form sea stacks. The one on the left is known as 'The Cup & Saucer' it used to have a handle but apparently, that has gone.
APPARENTLY IN A STORM THE CUP AND SAUCER ARE NO LONGER!

Photography Tips

I used a very long exposure of 20-30 sec to get the milky flat water in the middle of the day with my 'big stopper'.

Travel Information

This is located about 1 hour northwest of Charlottetown there is parking limited next to the beach. Getting onto the beach is in itself a challenge as the cliffs are being continually eroded people make their tracks. It is about a 10-minute walk along the beach it needs to be at low tide as you cannot get to the spot if it is not low or close to low. Along the beach, you need to climb up some rocks then move along the cliff and back down onto the beach twice to reach the spot. Well worth it!

Went there today to see what kind of shot I could get and cup is gone. I talked to a local and he said the hurricane of 2022 took the rock. Still a beautiful spot though.

That is a shame, they did look a bit fragile, but you are right it is a beautiful spot
