Canada Moraine Lake Shoreline
About a 15-20 minute drive from Lake Louise, this is the most beautiful lake I've seen anywhere.). The hike around the Moraine Lake Shoreline is the easiest way to appreciate the beauty of this famous alpine lake. A flat, easy trail weaves its way through shoreline trees and offers extraordinary views of the Ten Peaks, a series of encircling summits all over 10,000 feet. These were taken at the far end of the lake where a stream empties into the lake.
Photography Tips
Get to the parking lot before sunrise (or just before sunset) to get ahead of the crazy crowd and to snag a parking space. If you arrive much past 6:30 AM, you might be turned away. Take ND filters and polarizing filter. Also take the short hike up the “Rockpile” to get a different perspective and see the dazzling blue water of the lake.
