Canada Squamish Estuary and Spit
Located at the tip of the Howe Sound and bordered by the Spit on the west, the Squamish Estuary provides some of the best local unobstructed views of the Stawamus Chief (mountain) and is home to hundreds of species of birds and other habitats. In this photo, Shannon Falls is visible in the background. This is a beautiful area but in my opinion, the best part of this was watching the kite surfers. When we were there, there were dozens of them being routinely launched 20-30 feet (6-9 meters) above the water.
Photography Tips
As you might expect, it is extremely windy there. Be prepared. Protect your gear.
