Canada Greenpatch - Overlooking Banff

This outlook provides an easily accessible aerial view of townsite Banff and the iconic mountains surrounding it. Look over the city of Banff towards Mt. rundle and take in the amazing views. Best at sunrise and sunset, but equally good during nighttime and blue hour. Between April and June the Milky Way rises directly above Mt. Rundle, so that you can capture that celestial body rising over the bright city lights of Banff, challenging but doable.

Bring a tripod for long exposures, many times clouds will rush allowing the use of ND-Filters. At night bring a wide lens and maybe a light-pollution filter.

Not a lot of Parking Lots available, but in the early morning or late evening there will rarely be cars.
