Canada Mistaya Canyon
Hike down 1km from the designated parking area, which is close to the North Saskatchewan River Crossing along Highway 93, the famous Icefields Parkway. Once there you are granted a great view and multiple angles of the massive Mistaya Canyon, which is a soft cornered slot canyon. Best in the Morning, with first light on the peaks in the background, but also worth a visit during blue hour.
Photography Tips
ND Filters are recommended. Bring at least an ND0.9, but better an ND1.8 or a big stopper. A graduated ND will help balance the bright sky during the day as well. Venture along the edge of the canyon, during summer and with high water volumes spray will be an issue, so bring clothes to clean your lens. A polarizer will help you to remove glare on a sunny day.
