The Peyto Lake is one of the most distinct mountain lakes in the world, shaped like a wolf, bear or whatever animal you see in that. Its glacial water makes it appear super blue and its surrounded by amazing mountains.

This viewpoint is off the beaten track and you will barely find people around here!

Take a person into the frame for the more adventurous character! Expose for highlights and recover shadows later in post.

Travel Information

The Peyto Lake viewing platform can get super crowded, even with the new parking system in place (as of 2024). Arrive there early or late to beat the crowds. Try to avoid the viewing platform (Bow summit). If you turn left shortly before and follow some minor trails, you will find amazing alternative viewpoints. Some hiking maps as e.g. MapOut has them as marked trails.
