Canada Mary Ann Falls
Mary Ann Falls has long been a favourite destination for visitors to Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Parks Canada is committed to protecting ecological integrity within national parks while providing high-quality and meaningful experiences to visitors, including maintaining access to Mary Ann Falls. The road to the falls will be converted to a sustainable hiking and mountain biking trail. The newly designed and constructed trail is expected to open during the 2025 visitor season.

Photography Tips
This spot is spectacular in autumn when leaves change. Bring a tripod to play with exposure times and smooth water action.
Travel Information
The Mary Ann Falls Road was permanently closed to vehicle traffic after a series of washouts and failed repairs made it impassable. The road will reopen as a multi-use trail in late 2025, suitable for both hikers and mountain bikers. Visitor access will be restored to Mary Ann Falls, and the day use area will be rehabilitated.
