Rising majestically from the shores of the Bay of Fundy, Five Islands Provincial Park is one of Nova Scotia’s premiere outdoor destinations. Situated 24 km (15 mi) east of Parrsboro, the park features 90-metre (300-ft.) sea cliffs overlooking the world’s highest tides, a spectacular setting for camping or any of the many opportunities that abound for hiking, beachcombing, rock collecting, and clam digging.

Rubber boots are highly recommended!

Warning: this spot is only accessible at low tide; you must climb over a rocky shoulder which at high tide is under water. Before you go, check the tide table and make sure you have enough time to return before high tide begins. The area has the highest tides, reaching up to 13-16 meters, and the water is coming extremely fast. As a reminder, always check the tide times before walking on the mud flats, as the Fundy tides rise very quickly.

The location is open year-round; however, the park opens usually early June till mid-October. Outside of the park season, you may not be able to park close by and must hike a longer distance.

Photography Tips

Tide times dictate the times you can take photos. A tripod for panoramic shots is recommended.

Nice writeup of this location, been there too last year. This is how a spot description should be. I'll add my photo later
