Canada Wedge Pond

A small roadside pond near Kananaskis Village, which yields amazing reflections of Mt. Kidd in the early morning hours, in particularly in fall, when the angle of the sun is just perfect and the aspen trees on the opposing shore turn all golden.

Photography Tips

The Kidd-range is close and the best results are obtained with a 24mm or less focal length. Make sure to arrive early to capture the blue hour as well, as the weather changes quickly here and that might be the only chance you get. Also in August, September and early October it also works for Milky Way photography.
