Canada Johnston Canyon Upper Falls

This is a beautiful canyon with both upper and lower falls and multiple photo opportunities along the way. It's a very easy hike as it's paved. If you're not in reasonable shape you'll struggle on the way to the upper falls just due to the altitude but will get to the more popular lower falls quite easily.

Wide angle lens is necessary. ND filter for long exposure is essential for the silky water shots and therefore so is a tripod. Still, carrying my full gear bag, it wasn't that big of a deal.

Parking is available at the base of the canyon with restrooms. This is a very popular location in Banff so be prepared. Early morning or later evening the crowds thin. The higher altitude makes you dehydrate faster than you expect while hiking so bring some water or you'll pay a lot for the water at the gift shop on the bottom.
