Canada Mount Rundle from Vermillion Lakes
Just Northwest of Banff you can find the Vermillion Lakes road. As you drive along you pass three lakes, and each has a nice view towards the beautiful Mount Rundle. Each one also has parking spots, so take your pick.
Photography Tips
Shooting Mt. Rundle from this spot is best in the afternoon towards sunset, as the mountain will be nicely lit up. Golden hour works best. Autumn is good if you get the Fall colours and some fresh snow on the peak.
Travel Information
You can drive, or maybe bike there. It is just a few minutes outside of Banff. Parking is normally forbidden at the lakes. However, at sunset times, standing next to the shorelines is okay with the Parks Canada authorities. Could you just make sure to put the warning lights on and leave after sunset? Otherwise, they will hand out penalties.
If you want to be sure, don't park at Vermilion Lakes Dr but at the Vermilion Lakes Viewpoint at Trans-Canada Hwy. The view is similar if you want to take a telelens photo.
