Chile Huilo Huilo T-39
I’ve just centred on the route, there are no shortages of birds of prey throughout the region, but suspect you’ll not find the same shot in the same location.
Photography Tips
I had my long lens ready on the car seat, the Caracara, was in no rush, I followed it along the side of the road for a few minutes. Pecking at the ground a few times, pulling up grass and the third time lucky or not so lucky for the lizard.
Travel Information
The roads were mostly empty. Caveat, it was early spring (September/October). Lots of safe locations to pull over too. You do have to keep an eye out, I followed about 6 or 7 Caracaras, one was being mobbed by a few smaller falcons, but this one obviously had a goal in mind.
