China Terracotta Army, Xi´an
The world-famous Terracotta Army (UNESCO World Heritage Site) in Xian is a must-see when visiting Xian. The Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China. It is a type of tomb art that was buried with the emperor in 210-209 BC to protect him in the afterlife.
The emperor's tomb, discovered by farm workers in 1974, is one of the most significant archaeological finds of the twentieth century. Until today, more than 3000 soldiers and horses and over 40 000 weapons have been excavated and restored, and an estimated 5000 more figures are still hidden in the ground.

Photography Tips
The amount of people here is overwhelming. Even on slow days… It is not possible to use tripods. Get your ISO up and try to get a place at the railing to support your camera.
