The bridge has supposedly been there since Marco Polo's day but the LED lighting might be more recent. Across the bridge, beside the river, there is an area of bars. On a balmy summer evening, it is heaving with Chengdu's rich, young and beautiful. Also worth a visit.

Take a taxi. If you have a camera, the driver will probably take you to the promenade beside the river from where I took these, well, our driver did.
