The best is to sleep in Ping An and to see sunset and impressive sunrises, sometimes the mist give some interesting views. Remember to take a map from your hotel to get back, it can be deceptive. There are great views from out above the village.
Getting to Ping village is about 40' walking from the parking. An was easy; There are buses but we took a taxi from Guilin Airport (KWL) arranged by our guest house for a fair price. The taxi drops you at a spot below the village from where local ladies carry your luggage to your guest house for a fee (yes, cars can get to the village but not if they are carrying tourists).
