China Sunday market in Kashgar
For about 1500 years there has been the famous Sunday market of Kashgar. The Uyghurs also call their market "bazaar". Kashgar was an oasis in the middle of the Taklamakan Desert. So the city developed into a very important hub on the Silk Road. People from near and far come to the market to buy, sell and of course haggle. On Sunday only animals like camels, horses, sheep, goats, donkeys and cattle are sold in large quantities. The Sunday market here is the oldest in Xinjiang, so the interest and rush is accordingly high.
