Get up high ! Shoot from the riverside - on both sides of the river. Go up Suzhou Creek from The Bund. Walk anywhere in the area - you are perfectly safe in this incredible city.

As a tourist you won't need parking. Getting around by Metro is very safe, very easy (download one of the many apps - all of the signs and ticket machines are in English anyway) and usually much quicker than by taxi (and much cheaper - under US$1 anywhere in the city) - especially at rush hours.
