China Yading Nature Reserve - Hotel Village

The "Hotel-Village" inside the Yading Nature Reserve overs good views on two of the reserves high mountains. Only recommended when staying more than a day inside the nature reserve as "everything-else" is quite far off. It is best to go onto the roof of your hotel to get the best views.
As the scenic area closes early in the day you can enjoy the rest of the day on the roof of your hotel to see amazing alpenglow and dramatic clouds during sunset.

Take a long lens and expose a little longer to create dramatic effects using passing clouds. A foreground in a wide angle capture would be unpleasently busy with manmade structures and construction work (2016).

Getting there is not easy and requires patience, money and good physique as the area is in very high altitude deep within an inaccessible chinese national park (which are usually closed to puplic traffic).
Take a plane to Daocheng Airport (the highest in the world). Consider a sparse offering of flights, even in the high season. In winter flights only arrive every other day. You can also take a crushing 24h bus drive from Chengdu Xinnanmen Bus station. Drive or take a bus to the entrance of the Yading Nature reserve (1-2h drive). From there you have to take a mandatory bus into the park. The Bus stops in a village inside the park. There you can stay at a hotel. The entrance and bus tickets for the reserve are valid for three days (winter 2016).
