China Jiulong Waterfalls (Nine Dragon Waterfalls), Yunnan
This waterfall system is made up of around ten cascades in the Luoping County in Yunnan, China. A set of trails climb up the mountainside along the falls, leading to the summit. As you climb through tropical forest and bamboo groves, new falls are revealed. The summit offers views of Yunnan's distinctive karst landscape.
Photography Tips
Tripods are more or less essential to capture a 'soft' look to the waterfalls through long exposure but because the light is quite strong, a strong ND filter might be needed, especially on clear days, to achieve an appropriate exposure time. Although I got here in the afternoon, I would recommend a morning shoot with the sun illuminating the falls. The afternoon light caused some back lighting problems. The park has set up various viewing platforms on which you can set up a tripod if you'd rather avoid getting in the water.
